A Family Vacation
Our family just got back from fall break in Mexico. The state of the world is heavy and my heart aches for so many who are grieving and in pain right now. It is not lost on me that it is a privilege to be able to take a vacation and squeeze my loved ones tight — I’m grateful we were able to spend the last week with our girls, laugh, make memories, and play on the beach.
Many thanks to Wagner Bespoke for helping us organize this trip in such a stunning location. We stayed at the One & Only Mandarina which is about an hour away from Puerto Vallarta — we were completely immersed in the jungle setting (and humidity, ha) and I have never experienced anything quite like it. The resort is comprised of villas perched along a mountainside and we were able to see all sorts of wildlife from butterflies and birds to coatis, which are like friendly raccoons, everywhere. We spent one afternoon in Sayulita, a colorful surf town nearby, but the majority of our time was enjoyed on the beach at Mandarina. Their beach is a private cove with perfectly warm water which made it hard to ever want to leave. Although I ordered chips, guacamole, and ceviche for lunch every single day, we were able to experience dinner from a new view each night. One of the coolest evenings was when we went to a small restaurant in the stables by the polo field and had an Argentinian dinner cooked over a fire.
After a dreamy escape, it was back to reality with another trip! We landed on Monday night and then I unpacked the swimsuits and repacked with outfits for our McGee & Co. spring shoot in California!

Shooting for Spring
The team and I were in Ojai the rest of the week styling and shooting our McGee & Co. spring and outdoor collections for 2024. This location was giving us all the cozy cottage vibes.

Our Anniversary
Happy anniversary to my very best friend! Syd and I celebrated 15 years (!!!) this week. We didn’t get to spend the actual day together (isn’t that just how life goes?) but I am willing to bet we’ll sneak in a date night soon and recap all the adventures we’ve shared.

Seasonal Scents
I always feel like a great finishing touch to decorating a home for the season is scent, and our most recent Pura scents are the perfect addition. I am switching out our own devices at home for both Winter Bayberry and Cardamom Blossom.

Winter Textures
The weather is officially changing on us here in Utah and I am mentally preparing myself and my wardrobe for the chilly days ahead. Cozy textures make me excited for days of layering up in knits and sweaters – these three from Sezane will be in heavy rotation for me throughout fall and winter.

Halloween Prep
The girls are counting down the days until their sugar comas, haha. Our home is feeling appropriately festive and spooky, and we are ready for Halloween!

DIY Wreath
I ventured out into the neighborhood to forage for some foliage to make my own seasonal wreath this month. It was really fun and really easy and now this might just become a habit! I used a grapevine wreath form as my base and added in my favorite clipped branches with floral wire.
